A Wagon R Cross?
Remember the Maruti Wagon R XRest edition from the 2014 Auto Expo?
You’re forgiven for not. It’s a Wagon R with lots of cladding slapped on, apart from smoked head-lamps/tail-lamps and some more rudimentary embellishments, which include a blackened strip over the rear number pate area and a front fender flare. The front bumper has also been perked up with some more black cladding, which engulfs the air-dam and the fog-lamps. To complement all that black cladding, there’s some more under-cladding (now in silver) running all around, which double up as the front/rear scruff plates as well. Oh! There are roof rails thrown in too, and even the mirrors have not been spared from the cladding work.
The XRest also gets new 7-spoke alloy wheels. On the inside though, the Wagonr R XRest gets a new dual-tone dashboard done up in beige and brown, while the center console is finished in fake wood. The newly upholstered seats have a ribbed pattern, and have a dual-tone beige/brown color scheme.
Now a prototype of the XRest has been spotted somewhere indicating an Indian launch soon. The Wagon R XRest will continue to be powered by the 1.0-liter K-Series petrol motor producing 68 PS of power and 90 Nm of torque, paired to a 5-speed manual transmission.
